Moravida Festival- Community Altar

A central element of every Día de los Muertos celebration is the community altar, a sacred space where we gather to share offerings (ofrendas) and joyfully honor the lives of our departed loved ones. It serves as a place of healing, comfort, and reflection for all who visit.

We invite you to join us and contribute your own ofrenda to this communal altar. In collaboration with Decoraciones Hermosillo, we have crafted this special space. Please bring pictures, objects, fabrics or an altar offering. No open flames/candles will be lit but you may bring battery-operated candles. No fragile/ breakable objects are permitted to be displayed on the floor. We suggest that you label the back of your items with your name and phone number.

You may decorate your space:
Wednesday, October 29th from 4- 7pm or
Thursday, October 30th from 1- 7pm
We will not have any set up hours avaialbe on Friday due to Halloween.

All items should be picked up by Tuesday, November 4th. We are not responsible for any items left after November 4th.

Please Note:
All participants must pre-register to have a space at the Community Altar. However, specific shelving units will not be reserved — space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis during setup. We’ve added additional shelving this year to help ensure there is plenty of room for everyone who registers. Thank you for your understanding and participation!

Additionally, photography and videography may take place during setup and throughout the festival.
By participating, you acknowledge and agree that your image or likeness may be captured and potentially used in future promotional materials for the Moravida Festival.
