Open Riding

WINTER RIDING PROGRAM

The Winter Riding Program for Individuals has been developed to provide indoor riding opportunities to Grant County Residents. The goal of the program is to assist equine owners in maintaining their riding ability, while also providing exercise for their equine athletes during the winter months.

Program Season: November through February 24th, 2024.

Location(s): Ardell Pavilion or Harwood Pavilion depending on maintenance requirements.
Grounds will be worked up once a day, in the morning, or as determined necessary by Fairgrounds Staff.

Schedule:
  • Tuesday 9am-8pm
  • Wednesday 9am-3pm
  • Thursday 9am-8pm
  • Friday 9am- 3pm
  • Saturday 9am-3pm
  • Closed Sunday & Monday
Cost Per Rider:
$45 per month per person
or
$10 per day per person

NO REFUNDS


Basic Rules: No Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Training, Racing, or Drills. Only one horse per rider in the Pavilion at one time. No Ponying. No tying to Arena Panels. No Dogs or Smoking. Open Riding is not intended for official club meets, private lessons, or clinics of any sort.

Each rider must complete the following:
  • All participants must pay for membership and sign required forms prior to their first ride.

Hourly Rentals

Private rides can be scheduled. Providing the Pavilion is not booked for an event.

Location: Harwood Pavilion
Grounds will be worked up as determined necessary by Fairgrounds Staff.


Scheduling: Private rides must be scheduled 48 hours in advance with the Jim McKiernan, via e-mail or phone 509-765-3581 ext. 4613.

Cost: $75 per hour
Minimum 2 hours - maximum 7 hours

Basic Rules: Private rides are not intended for official club meets, private lessons, or clinics of any sort.

Each rider must complete the following:
  • All participants must check in with the Fairgrounds office M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm to sign required forms prior to their first ride.
  • Contract which will include a Hold Harmless and arena rules acknowledgement including the WA State Equine Limited Liability Law.(Co-signed by parent/legal guardian if under 18 y/o)
  • Affidavit that any Equine shall be up to date on all vaccinations and is in good health.

Planned Closures

Unless otherwise posted:
  • November 10th (Veterans Day)
  • November 23rd - 27th (Thanksgiving)
  • December 23rd - 26th (Christmas)
  • Dec. 31 - Jan. 1 (New Year’s)
  • January 15, 2024 (MLK Day)
  • February 19, 2024 (Presidents Day)
